Where funds come from

  • Without one-click trading, a request takes your margin, the maximum opening fee, and the small ETH amounts from your wallet.
  • With one-click trading, they come from your trading account.

Where margin sits

While a request is pending or a position is open, your margin and the matcher’s sit inside the openOracle contract, as an internal balance held by the openPunt contract. They are not in your wallet or trading account, and they do not show in the Balances tab. When the position ends, openPunt pays each side’s share out of that internal balance.

Where payouts go

When a position closes, or a request is cancelled or refunded, your share goes back where it came from:
  • Positions opened from your wallet pay out to your wallet.
  • Positions opened from your trading account pay out to the trading account, and stay there until you withdraw.
If a position is liquidated, the matcher receives the collateral, and only an unclaimed close reward comes back to you. See Liquidation.

Balances tab

The Balances tab under Positions shows your USDC and ETH in three columns:
  • Wallet: what your connected wallet holds.
  • Trading Account: what your trading account holds, including its balance inside the openOracle contract. With one-click trading off, it shows any balance your wallet has inside the openOracle contract, which is usually zero.
  • Total: the two added together.

Deposit and withdraw

Open Deposit to move funds between your wallet and your trading account.
  • Deposit moves USDC or ETH from your wallet to the trading account. The first deposit must be at least 5 USDC or 0.002 ETH.
  • Withdraw moves funds from the trading account back to your wallet. It draws from both parts of the trading account balance automatically. With a live session key, gas is paid from the trading account. Otherwise your wallet signs and pays gas in ETH.
You can withdraw at any time. Margin in a pending request or open position can only be withdrawn once it is paid out.
