Request close
Click Request Close. You fund a close reward for whoever starts the closing oracle game, plus a small ETH amount for whoever executes it. You need enough collateral to cover the maximum reward, and any unused part is refunded. The Status shows the reward rising each round, with a ring that fills over the round. It reads max once it reaches the cap. While the reward is waiting for a taker, the button reads Cancel close. Cancelling refunds the reward.Reporter takes the reward
Once someone takes the reward, the closing oracle game starts. The Status shows the game’s current price, and the ring fills until the game can settle. Disputes appear under Mark Price. The button reads Pending, since a close bound to a running game cannot be cancelled.Execute
A settled game does not close your position by itself. Someone has to execute it, which applies the game’s price and closes the position. Whoever executes earns the small ETH amount you funded with your close. MEV bots usually do this within seconds, and the position moves to Trade History as Close, or as Liquidated if the game settled below maintenance margin. If nobody executes it, the button becomes Execute a couple of blocks after the game becomes eligible to settle. Click it to execute the game yourself, and the execution amount comes back to you. The game must be executed within 3 minutes of becoming eligible to settle. After that, the button reads Reset. Executing the game then cancels it instead of closing the position, so a new game can start. Your close request is cleared, and the button returns to Request Close.Nobody takes the reward
The reward lasts about 40 seconds. After that, the Status reads Close requested, and the button still reads Cancel close. Your close request still stands without a reward: the next oracle game anyone starts on the position closes it. To offer a fresh reward instead, click Cancel close, then Request Close again.A game is already running
Someone else, often the matcher, may already have an oracle game running on your position. The Status shows its price, and the button still reads Request Close. Clicking attaches your close to that game, so no reward is needed, only the small ETH amount for execution. The button then reads Pending, and the rest works as in Reporter takes the reward.A game has settled but not been executed
The Status reads Report exists · No close intent, and the button reads Request Close. Clicking executes that game first, then starts your close reward in the same transaction. If executing the game ends the position, for example by liquidating it or by closing it after maturity, the position ends there and your close funding is not spent.Other states
Gas alert. When gas is high relative to the size of an oracle game, the Status shows a purple !! GAS ALERT. Hover it for the estimated impact on oracle accuracy. Requesting a close while it shows can go wrong in a few ways:- Less accurate price. Disputing a bad price costs more gas, so the closing price may be less accurate.
- More expensive. The minimum oracle liquidity rises with gas, so whoever starts the closing game has to post more, and your close reward has to compensate them for it.
- No taker. If the reward is still not enough, nobody may start the closing game until gas calms down.
