Without one-click trading, every request, close, and position action asks your wallet to sign. With one-click trading, you trade from a trading account and a key stored in your browser signs for you, so trades go through without wallet pop-ups.

Trading account

The trading account is a smart contract account on Base owned by your wallet. Its address is derived from your wallet, so it is the same on every device. Set it up from Deposit: fund it with at least 5 USDC or 0.002 ETH, then create it. Creation costs a few cents of gas, and your wallet signs twice the first time. Positions opened from the trading account belong to it, not to your wallet, and show under its own address in stats and the leaderboard. You can withdraw back to your wallet at any time.

Session keys

A session key is the key in your browser that signs for the trading account. Keys are authorized per collateral, so USDC and ETH each need their own, and each one lasts 7 days. By default a key is forgotten when you close the tab. Turn on Keep session keys after closing this tab in settings to keep it.

Security

A session key can only act through openPunt from your trading account. It cannot send funds anywhere else. If someone stole it, the most they could do is lose the trading account’s balance through openPunt trades, the same kind of risk as an exchange API key. Keep only what you trade with in the trading account. Revoke ends every session for the trading account on every device at once. Your wallet signs one transaction.

Gas

One-click actions pay gas from the trading account, in USDC or ETH, so your wallet does not need ETH to trade.
